Ms. Whitfield is a native of Tupelo, Mississippi. She attended high school at Berkshire School in Sheffield, Massachusetts, and received an undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in Human & Organizational Development. Ms. Whitfield obtained her law degree at the University of Mississippi, where she was the recipient of the Wright Law Firm Family Law Award in 2004, and a semi-finalist in the McGlinchy Stafford Mock Trial Competition in 2004. During law school Ms. Whitfield was a member of Moot Court Board, and a research assistant for Professor Deborah Bell, author of “Bell on Mississippi Family Law.” Ms. Whitfield has specialized in the area of family law since receiving her degree in 2005.
